Alyssa Ring is a Director of Federal Government Affairs at Tremont Strategies Group, where she leads federal policy advocacy efforts, manages client communications, directs in-depth research, and contributes to strategic planning across the firm’s portfolio.
Alyssa brings extensive public sector experience to TSG, most recently serving as Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. There, she led local, state, and federal government relations for an agency with an annual budget of nearly $6 billion. Alyssa played a key role in advancing major infrastructure initiatives—including the Cape Cod Bridges, the Allston Multimodal Project, and East-West Rail—through effective engagement with Congress and federal agencies.
Prior to her work at MassDOT, Alyssa served as Director of Government Affairs for Beth Israel Lahey Health, New England’s second-largest health care system. In this role, she supported city, state, and federal advocacy strategies to secure policy wins and funding that expanded access to care and advanced medical innovation.
Earlier in her career, Alyssa served in the administration of Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh, first as Assistant to the Mayor and later as Government Affairs Liaison. She led efforts to pass key legislative, budget, and policy priorities through coalition building, lobbying, grassroots outreach, and media strategy.
A graduate of Suffolk University with a degree in American Government and Politics, Alyssa is also a committed civic volunteer, having contributed her time to organizations including DC Central Kitchen and the Massachusetts Troop Welfare Council.
