With more than twenty years of senior leadership experience in public policy, government affairs, and external relations, Michael is a trusted advisor to executives operating at the complex intersection of state government and the private sector. At Tremont Strategies Group, he plays a central role in the firm’s state health care practice while also building and advising a growing portfolio of emerging technology clients—an area shaped by his long-standing interest in innovation and its regulatory and policy implications.
Prior to co-founding Tremont Strategies, Michael served as Vice President of External Relations for the US subsidiary of an international medical services company, where he directed government affairs, strategic communications, and community engagement initiatives across multiple markets. In that capacity, he worked closely with executive leadership to align corporate strategy with evolving legislative and regulatory landscapes.
Earlier in his career, Michael held senior leadership positions including Executive Vice President at a prominent healthcare public affairs firm and Managing Partner at a multistate and federal government relations firm, advising clients on legislative strategy, procurement, and regulatory positioning. He began his professional career as a researcher for the Maine State Senate Democratic Office and later served as a senior staff member for the Massachusetts Democratic Party, grounding his work in a deep understanding of political dynamics.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Michael remains actively engaged in civic leadership. He has served on the boards of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center, The Children’s Trust, and the Goldfarb Center for Public Affairs. He earned his degree in Government, with distinction, from Colby College.
