With decades of diverse public service experience and longstanding relationships across the Massachusetts political landscape, Mike is a seasoned strategist in designing and executing complex government relations campaigns at both the state and local levels. As a founding partner of Tremont Strategies Group, he has helped shape the firm’s culture of hands-on client engagement and results-driven advocacy, building a reputation for delivering meaningful policy and funding outcomes.
Before entering the private sector, Mike served as Director of Government Affairs for Governor Deval Patrick (D-MA), where he led the administration’s legislative and political strategy at the State House. In that role, he coordinated closely with Cabinet officials, legislative leadership, and key stakeholders to advance major policy priorities and manage high-profile negotiations.
Previously, Mike was Government Affairs Director for State Treasurer Timothy P. Cahill where he played a central role in reforming the Commonwealth’s school building assistance program, helping to establish the Massachusetts School Building Authority and address a $15.5 billion school construction funding crisis—one of the most significant public finance reforms of its time.
Earlier in his career, Mike held senior leadership roles including Director of Public Affairs at the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, Director of Community Corrections, and Assistant Deputy Superintendent of Administration and Finance for Norfolk County Sheriff Michael G. Bellotti, where he oversaw budget, operations, and intergovernmental coordination.
Mike continues to play an active role in civic and political leadership. He serves on the Board of Directors of Fitchburg State University and sits on the Finance Committee for Maura Healey.
